With Plottr you can easily export your file to both Microsoft Word and Scrivener.
This article provides an overview of the exporting process.
Exporting to Microsoft Word
To export your Plottr data to a new Microsoft Word file:
- Click the “Export” button on the Timeline or Outline toolbar
- Click MS Word
- Save the new Word file on your computer
- Open the file with Microsoft Word
Your new Microsoft Word file will contain a full outline of your book, with additional sections for your notes, characters, and places, in one handy document.

Exporting to Scrivener
To export your Plottr data to a new Scrivener file:
- Click the “Export” button on the Timeline or Outline toolbar
- Click Scrivener
- Save the new Scrivener file on your computer
- Open the file with Scrivener

Your new Scrivener file will contain your chapters / beats, along with scene card notes and plotline details. Scene card and plotline data can be viewed using Scrivener’s inspector tool.
This makes it extremely easy to get to work writing your book in Scrivener!

Exporting the Series View
To export your Series View timeline data to MS Word or Scrivener, simply initiate the export process from the Series View:
