Places - Custom Attributes
Custom Attributes allow you to add and track custom details about your Places. This article shows you how to use them on Plottr for Desktop and Web.
What this Article Covers
Types of Custom Attributes
There are two types of Custom Attributes:
- Text Field (Default): Simple text input
- Paragraph Field: Paragraph input with rich formatting options
Use Cases
There are many ways to use Custom Attributes with Places – here are a few to consider:
- Weather: Identify the Place's weather conditions
- City: Identify the city where the Place exists
- Power: Identify a special power associated with the Place
- Item: Identify a special item associated with the Place
- Symbolizes: Identify what each Place symbolizes in your book
Adding Custom Attributes
To add a Custom Attribute:
- Click the "Attributes" button to open the Custom Attributes menu
- Type in the name of the Attribute you wish to create under "Add Attribute"
- Leave the field type blank for a simple text field or toggle it to a paragraph field type
- Click the "Add" button
Editing Custom Attributes
To edit a Custom Attribute:
- Click the "Attributes" button to open the Custom Attributes menu
- Click on the name of the custom attribute you'd like to change
- Update the name of the attribute
- Click the "Close" button OR "Enter / Return" to save
Ordering Custom Attributes
To change the order of Custom Attributes:
- Click the "Attributes" button to open the Custom Attributes menu
- Click and hold the three bar icon to the left of the Attribute title
- Drag and drop the Attributes to reorder them
Deleting Custom Attributes
To delete a Custom Attribute:
- Click the "Attributes" button to open the Custom Attributes menu
- Click the "X" button next to the Custom Attribute you wish to delete
- Click the "Delete" button to confirm
